Event by Samuel Lara
This webinar explores soil literacy as a practical enabler of soil health, showcasing how digital tools, participatory learning formats, and advanced monitoring systems contribute to awareness, engagement, and informed decision-making.
Bringing together projects from the EU Soil Mission ecosystem including:
PREPSOIL, CURIOSOIL, The Living Soil Workshop ( SoilTribes/InBestSoil ) , and WHEATWATCHER
the session will present complementary approaches: a soil literacy mobile app and citizen science features, a Community of Practice model for engagement in Living Labs, an experiential “Living Soil Workshop” methodology, and digital sensing tools for monitoring abiotic stressors in agricultural systems.
Through concrete examples and moderated discussion, the webinar will highlight how these diverse approaches can reinforce one another moving from awareness and education to participation, co-creation, and data-driven soil management and how soil literacy initiatives can be adapted and scaled across different European contexts.
