About the event

How do soil microorganisms shape soil health, and how can we measure and integrate them into monitoring frameworks?

This webinar brings together experts from leading EU projects and institutions to explore the role of bacteria, fungi, and protists in soil ecosystems, and how scientific advances are supporting soil health assessment and monitoring.

With contributions from:

  • Shamina Imran Patha -  LEGUMINOSE (University of Florence)
  • Stefan Geisen - BIOservicES  (Wageningen University)
  • Jessica Cuartero Monino -  SOB4ES  (WSL)

The session will highlight: Microbial communities in agricultural systems, Soil ecosystem functioning and interactions, Biodiversity indicators and monitoring approaches, DNA-based tools for soil assessment, and EU-scale insights from LUCAS soil data.
