Welcome to the recording of the Soil Community Platform webinar: “Soil Literacy in Action: Digital Tools and Community Engagement for Soil Health.” This session explores how soil literacy can be strengthened through a mix of community-led approaches and digital innovation, including education frameworks, citizen science tools, participatory workshops, and sensing technologies that support data-driven soil management. Mouazen (Wheat Watcher) Projects featured CURIOSOIL: “Awakening Soil Curiosity to Catalyse Soil Literacy”, including the Soil Literacy Assessment Framework (SLAF) and participatory activities to co-create policy recommendations for soil education. PREPSOIL Mobile App concept: an ecosystem of resources and features such as an interactive atlas of initiatives, a knowledge hub, PREPSOIL TV, and citizen science “SoilQuest” examples. Living Soils Workshop: a participatory, hands-on workshop format designed to support soil literacy through interactive learning. Wheat Watcher: remote and proximal sensing combined with machine learning to monitor soil stressors and support management decisions, with multiple pilot contexts.
